Paying the price
Once you have registered, and received confirmation from us that you have room onboard, please proceed by paying the deposit immediately. Note that your reservation is considered complete only once we’ve received your deposit. Your booking is finally confirmed only once payment is made in full!
You have two alternatives:
- Pay the full fare, after confirmation from us.
- Pay the 500€ deposit, after confirmation from us + the remainder no later than 10 days prior to departure.
2. Pay by direct bank transfer. Usually more expensive and slower. You will have to cover any bank fees. Contact us for the account information.
3. Pay by credit card (Pay Pal) below. Convenient but the most expensive way. You’ll have to cover PayPal’s 5% additional transaction fee.
4. After agreement, a portion of the fee can also be payed in EURO cash upon arrival.

These trips have been priced as low as possible to enable everyone to come. They offer tremendous value at a very low price. Still, in this broken world they remain out of reach financially for many. For some the cost of this trip represents a tiny portion of what’s in the bank. For others it can represents several months of earnings. For that reason we have this sponsorship program. It is to enable people from lesser affluent backgrounds to come, and to give us all an opportunity to help. The cultural diversity onboard has been one of the high points of the trips in the past.
Even a modest donation could be a big help for someone struggling to make it. Donations will be strictly applied to sponsor participants only. You can either give anonymously, or we’ll pair you up with a sponsoree if you prefer. It’s up to you.

Does this sound like something you really need but completely priced out of your reach? (Typically the equivalent of several months salaries for you).
Life has taught us that things of true value only comes through sacrifice. And yet sometimes looting your treasure chest might not be enough. Don’t give up just yet. Maybe our ‘sponsor-a-pirate-program’ can lend a helping hand.

We give priority to people from non-western countries, and people who are involved in full-time ministry or voluntary work.
Answers to common questions
Keep in mind that your booking is only complete once we have received your payment in full.
You’ll need to pay the initial 500 € deposit as a reservation after signing up. The remainder is payable no later than 60 days prior to departure.
We recommend TransferWise and Revolut for lowest fees and best rates. Contact us for the account information. You can also pay by credit card through PayPal. (5% PayPal fees will be added to the total amount). If you prefer you can also pay by conventional bank transfer.
Any other solutions will have to be agreed on individually with us.
Travel & Tickets
These trips bring together people from many different locations, so group travel is not feasible. You will have to make your own travel arrangement to Athens.
Please do not book any ticket until you are confirmed with us, once you are, please make your travel arrangements as soon as possible to minimize your traveling cost. There are many, (also low-cost), airlines operating into Athens. You should not have any problems finding something suitable.
You’ll need to land in Athens no later than 15:00 in the afternoon of our first day (Saturday), in order to make it to the port in time.
We will return to port in Athens no later than in the early morning of our final day, (also Saturday). We don’t recommend, (for your own comfort), that you book any return flights departing before 11:00 a.m. of our final day.
You can also find budget accommodation in Athens itself. You really should consider arriving a few days early, or stay on after the trip, as Athens with surroundings has much to offer, especially if you are interested in culture and history.
The port is only (40 min) ride from the airport. We can help arrange airport transfer (taxi or van) to meet you at the airport. We will coordinate that once we have every-bodies travel details. (Price for a taxi/van is 45-90€, to be shared).
We strongly recommend that you make sure that you have a valid travel insurance covering both your traveling, injury and illness. Many European insurance companies include travel cover in their home insurance policy. Contact your insurance company or check with your travel agent or the web for the best deals.
Please remember to pack in a soft bag without frame ONLY, which can than be folded away onboard. There is no room for hard suitcases onboard the boat.

• Warm clothes, (it can get cold at sea even here)
• An extra set of clothes in case you get soaked
• Rain gear/windbreaker (if you have)
• Air-mattress, if you want. (Very nice to sleep on deck especially if the boat is crowded).
• Light sleeping bag, again if you want, (for sleeping outside only)
• Toiletries & beach towel (bed sheets and personal towel is provided onboard)
• Bathing suit and suntan lotion
• Cap and sunglasses
• Ear plugs (might be snorers onboard!)
• Diving/snorkeling gear
• Notebook, pen, reading material (might be nice if you are of the studious kind)
• Mosquito repellent
• Personal medication and seasickness tablets (if you are sensitive).
You will be part of the crew sailing the boat. You don’t need any formal training or previous experience. However, there are some things you could do in preparation.
Here are a couple of knots that are good to know. We use them onboard daily and it would be good if you could learn them before coming.
In the 20 years of doing trips like these, accommodation has never been a problem.
The yachts we use offers accommodation mostly in double cabin. Some of them are wider while some are a bit narrower, (maybe best suitable for closer friends or couples 😉
At times, we can offer single occupancy in cabins, though at a considerable price addition compared to a shared cabin.
You are also free to sleep outside. Either on deck or in the cockpit (under the bimini). Just bring your own sleeping bag and mattress, as ships bedding is not allowed on deck.
We normally end up being 4-5 different nationalities onboard. You’ll need to be able to communicate in basic English in order to enjoy participating. We are trying to keep it reasonably comfortable onboard with a max of 8 people + crew.
Cancellation & Refund
For cancellations made earlier than 90 days prior to departure, 85% of the full fee is refunded.
For cancellations made between 90 and 60 days prior to departure, 60% of the full fee is refunded.
No refunds are made for cancellations made later than 60 days prior to departure.
In the unlikely event of a trip being postponed or cancelled, (sunken boats, wars, acts of God, etc), you will be fully refunded.
We are sworn by blood oath to guard and protect all your private secrets. Whatever you send us, we store in a locked (encrypted) treasure chest, well hidden. We will never sell you out, or pass on any information regarding you. Neither for money or political gain. We will never let any governments, organizations, businesses or individuals get any access to our data. We are also sworn by oath to destroy and dump your private secrets in the deep ocean at your request.
We do not install anything on your computer or track you through our website, except for possibly some simple cookies displaying the images and forms on this site. You are safe with us. Pirates honor!
